Hampson Aerospace, Eclipse Reach 'Full And Final' Settlement In Lawsuit

Vendor Sued For Nonpayment; Planemaker Claimed Poor Quality

Eclipse Aviation and Hampson Aerospace, Inc., announced Tuesday the two companies have reached a full and final settlement of all claims and disputes, stemming from a lawsuit filed against Eclipse late last year.

As ANN reported, Eclipse was sued by U.K.-based Hampson on November 14, alleging Eclipse failed to make required payments for empennage assemblies produced at Hampson's facility in Grand Prairie, TX.

Eclipse CEO Vern Raburn quickly countered Hampson's claims, asserting a number of shortcomings in the working relationship between Hampson and Eclipse, and indicated Eclipse to expend significant resources in order to use the components provided to them by Hampson.

"We spend way too much time fixing what should have been done right to begin with," Raburn added in November.

Eclipse tells ANN this week's settlement will result in the dismissal, with prejudice, of the complaints previously filed in litigation and arbitration between the parties.

The terms of the settlement are confidential between the parties, Eclipse added, and will not be disclosed.

In October, Hampson earned the contract to provide empennage assemblies for the upcoming HondaJet.
