Analyst Lowers BizJet Forecast For 2013

Zenith Jet Says It Still Expects Overall Growth In The Market

An updated business jet forecast released last week by Zenith Jet foresees fewer bizjet deliveries in calendar year 2013 than it had originally anticipated, but still thinks the market will grow during the next three years.

The Wichita Business Journal reports that the Quebec-based company expects that 686 bizjets will be delivered this year, down from its previous forecast of 757. Zenith Jet based its projections in part on slower years at both Cessna and Bombardier, along with additional delays associated with the HondaJet program.

Zenith Jet sees an up-and-down period for bizjet sales through 2022. In the next three years, the company says that deliveries will clime to nearly 1,150 by 2016, but then fall again to 721 in 2019. In the out years of its forecast, it sees deliveries rising again to over 1,100 in 2022.
