Property Drone Consortium To Participate In 2018 Public Safety UAS Conference

PDC President To Lend Expertise To Panel On Remote Sensing With Small UAS

The Property Drone Consortium (PDC), a collaboration that consists of insurance carriers, roofing industry leaders and supporting enterprises, announced today that it will sponsor and participate in the 2018 Public Safety UAS Conference to be held from March 5 - 7, 2018 in Crozet, VA. Charles Mondello, President of the PDC will present as part of a panel discussion on the subject of remote sensing with small UAS.

“The purpose of the conference is to discuss and demonstrate the integration of drones in public safety,” said Darren L. Goodbar, conference organizer. “Along with a number of panel discussions and speaker sessions, the conference will include a real-time variety of drone flying exercises, including training scenarios such as active shooter incident, hazardous material derailment, wide area search and rescue, and many others.”

The conference is open to professionals in law enforcement, public safety, and search and rescue/emergency services/disaster relief. Attendance will be limited to approximately 185 participants coming from public safety, fire, rescue, law enforcement and other emergency or disaster response members or affiliated organizations.

“The PDC clearly understands the challenges, as well as the benefits of use of sUAS for emergency management,” said John Monaco, Director of Programs and Outreach for the PDC. “By participating in this conference, the PDC wants to contribute to an understanding of how insurance companies can use drones to assess property damage and quickly settle claims for distressed homeowners, without interfering in government post-catastrophe drone operations.”
