Not %$!@*&? Again: Pilot Arrested On Suspicion Of Being Intoxicated

Notice To Airmen: Cut It Out!

Frankly, we're getting sick of reporting news like this.

A pilot attempting to fly a small plane out of Mather Airport Sunday was arrested for being under the influence of alcohol, after an alert airport worker noticed he appeared to be intoxicated.

Police officers responded to the call and gave pilot Gary Collins a breath test... which registered at three times the legal limit of .04 for pilots, according to authorities.

Workers at the Sacramento, CA-area airport say they had actually been on the lookout for Collins before then, as they also thought the pilot may have also been intoxicated when he'd flown into the airport last week, at the start of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

"This is an instance where somebody recognized it before he got onto the plane and called us," Sacramento County Sheriffs Department spokesman R.L. Davis said to NBC-affiliate KCRA.

The type of aircraft Collins was attempting to fly, or if he was the owner, was not reported.

Collins has been a pilot for 11 years, according to KCRA.
