Aero-TV: Cabin Management – Flight Display Showcases Interface Options

Sales Manager, Bob Hala, Premieres New Flight Display Products

On April 8th through April 10th, in Orlando, Florida, hundreds attended the 53rd Annual AEA International Convention & Trade Show; founded in 1957, the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) represents more than 1,300 industry affiliates associated with the general aviation avionics and electronics systems. At AEA’s 2010 ‘New Product Introductions,’ leading manufacturer, Flight Display Systems, announced two new retrofit cabin entertainment products.

For those owners and operators seeking superior in-flight entertainment, Flight Display Systems introduced an all-new 22” Widescreen Fly HD flat-panel LCD, featuring full HD resolution at 1080p. Weighing just 9.75 lbs and only 1.6” in depth, the FD220CV VerHD’s compact size is ideal for Gulfstream, Challenger, Global Express, and Falcon operators.

In addition, Flight Display Systems announced an upgrade kit for Airshow 100, Airshow 200, and Airshow 400 owners; the upgrade kit provides an easy alternative to modernize moving maps for the thousands of old Airshow units no longer supported. For $11,074, the kit includes the new Flight Display Moving Map with Worldwide Satellite Imagery, state-of-the-art hardware, and two-year warranty.

CEO David Gray founded Flight Display Systems in 1999. Two years later, the company premiered its first product, the Flight Display Moving Map, providing a cheaper, more efficient option than anything in the aircraft cabin entertainment market.

After the success of the passenger-accessed moving map, the company expanded its product line to include LCD monitors and audio/video sources including aircraft DVD players, MP3/CD players, and Flight View cameras.

Today, Flight Display Systems has 60 aircraft products with FAA PMA approval.
