Jet Maintenance Provider Moves Into Pison Market

Flight School Fleets Targeted

Business aviation maintenance provider Jet Support Services and training aircraft leasing company Brown Aviation Lease announced Monday they are working together to develop a new Piston Engine Maintenance Program. Targeting flight school fleets throughout the United States to launch the program, the joint venture will provide hourly cost maintenance programs for Continental and Lycoming piston engines.

“We have considered the piston market for years,” commented Louis C. Seno, CEO for JSSI. “Working with the great people at Brown Aviation Lease, we will enter the market and offer valuable services to schools that are operating a fleet of piston airplanes. As a piston aircraft owner myself, I can relate to the challenges of managing maintenance expenses and accurately budgeting for overhauls and unexpected events,” added Seno.

JSSI and Brown Aviation Lease plan to design programs for piston fleet operators that will reduce financial risk and provide budget stability and predictability, while saving on maintenance costs. Universities, flight schools and FBOs that operate a fleet of piston aircraft will be able to enroll their engines on an hourly cost maintenance program that will cover scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as well as future mandatory and recommended service bulletins, future airworthiness directives, and conversions for alternative fuels.

“These programs are being developed in response to industry demands, and we are excited to be leading this innovation with the experienced group of maintenance experts at JSSI” stated Jason Griswold, Managing Director of Brown Aviation Lease, LLC. “Lou and I have known each other for years, and we are both passionate about finding ways to support the general aviation market, especially within the universities and flight schools that are training the pilots and technicians of the future.

Speaking of pistons ... JSSI is launching their 2nd annual Fly a P51 sweepstakes at AirVenture. The sweepstakes is open until October 11th, when the grand prize winner will be announced at the NBAA 64th Annual Meeting and Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.

That grand prize of an orientation flight in a dual-controlled P-51 Mustang aircraft through the Stallion 51 Corporation in Kissimmee, Florida, will be awarded to one lucky participant and includes round trip airfare to Florida and accommodations for two. Stallion 51 is FAA certified and is the world's premier P-51 Mustang flight operation. Stallion 51 is also home to CRAZY HORSE and CRAZY HORSE², the dual-cockpit, dual-control TF-51 Mustangs.

Contestants from the contiguous United States may enter the sweepstakes at the JSSI exhibit in Hangar C at AirVenture in Oshkosh or entries may be made from any computer directly through the internet or via postal mail. The grand prize winner will be randomly selected from qualified entries after the closing of the sweepstakes on October 11, 2011.  Please see the official rules on the sweepstakes website for more details.
