Upgraded: John Myers, Steve Blakey

AIG Aviation, Inc., a member company of American International Group, Inc. (AIG), announced that John Myers has been named Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Steve Blakey, Executive Vice President of AIG Aviation, will assume Mr. Myers' former role as President.

John Myers, a career veteran of aviation underwriting, began his career at Southeastern Aviation Underwriters in 1966, and joined AIG Aviation in 1983 when Southeastern Aviation was acquired by AIG. He was named President of AIG Aviation in 1993. Mr. Myers is a graduate of The Georgia Institute of Technology, where he received a degree in Industrial Management.

Steve Blakey joined AIG in 1980 in the Captive Management Division in Bermuda. In 1983, he was named Comptroller of AIG Aviation and relocated to their Atlanta headquarters. Mr. Blakey was named Executive Vice President of AIG Aviation in 1997. Since joining AIG Aviation, the company has grown from $82 million to $1.3 billion in gross premiums written. Mr. Blakey holds a Certified Public Accountants (CPA) certification from the state of Georgia, and is a graduate of Teeside Polytechnic Institute, Redcar, England.
