Mesa Makes Moves on Board
Mesa Air Group, Inc.
just announced the appointment of Robert Beleson to its Board of
Directors. Drawing upon his thirty plus years of experience in
marketing and strategic planning, Mr. Beleson has most recently
been providing consulting services for a variety of high profile
clients in the aviation as well as other select industries. Mr.
Beleson's previous employment includes: Chief Marketing Officer for
Avolar, a former division of United Airlines; President of M.
Shanken Communications, a publisher of upscale consumer
publications; Chief Marketing Officer for Playboy Enterprises; and
President and Chief Executive Officer of Remy Martin Amerique, a
diversified wine and spirit importing company. Mr. Beleson earned a
Bachelor of Science from Cornell University School of Industrial
and Labor Relations and a Masters of Business Administration from
Harvard Business School.
"Given the opportunities that currently exist for our Company as
well the significant role of our Board of Directors, we believe it
is important that Mesa has effective and independent directors like
Bob. His expertise combined with the leadership possessed by our
other Board members will be invaluable in helping Mesa move forward
successfully," said Jonathan Ornstein, Mesa Chairman and CEO.
Voluntarily stepping down from the Board is Executive Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer George Murnane III. Mr.
Murnane has been a valuable member of the Board since 1999 and has
been serving as Executive Vice President since January 2002 and
Chief Financial Officer since February 2003. "Although Peter's
presence on the Board will be missed, his valuable services will
continue to benefit the Company in his positions as Executive Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer," said Jonathan Ornstein.
