Post 9/11 Security Costs Soar

New Study Sees $10 Billion Screening Systems Market In 2011

Part of the continuing legacy of the 9/11 attacks is escalated security spending. In a new report titled, "The Airport Passenger Screening Systems Market 2011-2021," Visiongain projects the global airport passenger screening systems market will reach an ominous milestone in 2011 - $10 billion in spending.

The report's summary states, "The first line of defense in aviation security equipment is airport passenger screening systems. The considerable expansion in airport capacity across the globe is a considerable driver for expenditure on airport passenger screening systems. Other key drivers to the market are evolving regulation and technologies; the emergence of low-cost carriers in the developing aviation industries of Asia-Pacific and the Middle East; and a collective effort to integrate technologies to provide multi-layered security systems.

"Visiongain identifies the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific as key regional markets to watch out for – owing to the robust growth path of their economies, which is stimulating domestic demand for civil aviation and encouraging greater levels of investment in airport passenger screening systems."

The proprietary study is available for sale to clients in the industry.
