Support And Training Manager For Superior Air Parts
Beijing
Timothy T. Archer, Group CEO, Superior Air Parts tells ANN that
general aviation industry veteran James Robert “Bob”
Moseley passed quietly in his sleep on November 17 at the age of
64. At the time of his passing, Moseley was serving as the
company’s manager of Technical Support and Training at the
Superior Aviation Beijing facility in Beijing, China.
“This is extremely devastating to everyone in the Superior
family. Bob has been working so hard and making incredible strides
in training the teams of engine build and inspection technicians at
our new facility in Beijing,” Archer said. “He and I
talked frequently and he always said how he absolutely loved
teaching and passing on his knowledge to a new generation. They
looked at him more like a father than a supervisor.”
“Even from the first day he arrived in Beijing he broke
down language barriers and built strong bonds with each of his
students. Bob’s sudden passing is very hard on us all,”
Archer said.
“From the first time we talked about the opportunity to go
to Beijing, Bob was very excited to be able to pass along his depth
of knowledge about general aviation aircraft and piston engines to
a whole new generation of technicians,” added Bill Blackwood,
Superior’s Director of Operations. “I think as much as
he loved aviation, he loved teaching even more.”
Before joining Superior, Moseley was the owner of Skytek, Inc.,
a general aviation aircraft maintenance facility. He was also the
owner of Mose Engines, which specialized in overhaul and repair
services for Teledyne and Lycoming engines.
Prior to opening Skytek, Moseley was a Factory Field Technical
Representative for Teledyne Continental Motors. During his career
he has held a number of positions as lead mechanic and maintenance
director for Part 135 charter operations, flight schools and
FBO’s. He also was an aviation technologies instructor at
Maple Wood Community College.
