John Newton Named VP Of Used Aircraft

Cessna has named John Newton vice president of Used Aircraft, effective January 2, 2007. Newton, currently senior vice president at Textron Financial Aviation Finance, will be based at Cessna’s headquarters in Wichita, KS and will report to Mike Luethye, vice president of Citation Sales.

Newton’s career with Cessna began in the late 1970s, as a field based sales manager for Cessna Finance Corp. From 1986 to 1992, Newton worked as vice president of aircraft lending and leasing activities for American National Bank.

He returned to Cessna Finance in 1992 as vice president of Operations. Newton was later promoted to senior vice president of all Domestic Sales and Marketing activities for CFC.

Newton was one of the original industry members of the National Aircraft Resale Association (NARA) and has chaired their special projects committee since 2003.  He has also been a long time member and director of the National Aircraft Finance Association, serving as its president for two terms.

In addition to his extensive industry experience, Newton is a Senior Accredited Aircraft Appraiser, a certified Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) mechanic and an active licensed pilot. He holds a B.S. degree in Aeronautical Flight Operations from San Jose State University.
