FAA Grants NVG STC For Twin Otter To Aviation Specialties Unlimited

Company Holds 14 STC's For Rotorcraft, Expanding Fixed Wing Business

The FAA has granted an STC to modify the cockpit and cabin of Twin Otter DH-6 aircraft for NVG operations to Aviation Specialties Unlimited (ASU), the company said Tuesday in a news release.

“We continue to see growth in this sector as fixed-wing operators realize the need for night vision systems in their various flight operations,” said ASU Founder and CEO Mike Atwood. ASU also has an STC on the C208 Caravan and the C212. In addition to the new fixed wing STC, ASU has an industry leading 14 STCs on rotorcraft.

“ASU’s team of professionals are phenomenal to work with,” said President of Rampart Aviation Gregg Fahrenbruch. “I cannot say enough about the quality of the installation work that ASU performed. When we were looking for a company to work with on this new STC project we did not have any doubt it would be ASU. In our mind there was only one choice.”

Rampart operates a fleet of DHC-6 aircraft and uses them for parachute lift support, aerial geophysical survey, and specialized contract work for the government agencies, and passenger charter flights.
