New Digs For The Farnborough Airshow

Permanent Building Constructed For That Event And Others

The organizers of the Farnborough Airshow have made a significant investment in infrastructure for the event, signalling a long-term commitment to the show.

The new building was built to offer a new venue for the 2018 air show, according to Farnborough International Exhibition and conference center venue director Michael Watton. But there have already been other events booked into the space, giving Watton reason to believe that the business will grow.

Watton said that the air show has until now been held in a temporary structure that is very expensive to set up and dismantle every two years. "So we have taken the decision, for part of the exhibition, to invest in permanent facilities which replicate what we have been doing in previous years but in a much more enhanced environment," he said.

Among the events that are booked for the space so far are Southern Manufacturing, Security and Policing in March, and the C&IT Association Forum in April.

The building can accommodate large exhibitions and has meeting spaces for groups as small as 20 and as large as 2,000 people.
