The U.S. Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol turned 74 Tuesday with its 58,000 members celebrating their rich heritage of volunteer service. CAP was founded on December 1, 1941. Its members quickly proved their worth by conducting aerial patrols on their own, heroism that discouraged and eventually stopped deadly German U-boat attacks along U.S. coastlines and waterways. The Winston-Salem Air Show has been cancelled for 2016, but the reason is not falling revenues or poor attendance. Rather, the Forsyth County, North Carolina Airport Commission decided to cancel the show when it was awarded a $1.8 million airport improvement grant to repave and reconstruct the ramp area at the main terminal, which is part of the airport's master plan. Unfortunately, the repaving project conflicts with the airshow. After abruptly resigning from XCOR last week, Jeff Greason and Dan DeLong have announced their new venture. Greason and BeLong helped found the XCOR Company. Greason and DeLong have joined with Aleta Jackson, who also left XCOR at about the same time, to form Agile Aero, which will also be based in Midland Texas. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
