Feel The Need... The Need For Speed?
The Columbia aircraft
experience is coming to two Southern California airports in
October: Van Nuys and Montgomery Field. The event showcases the
Columbia Aircraft line, which features the world’s
fastest certified piston aircraft – the Columbia
400.
The tour includes a customized semi-truck trailer that expands
to become a Columbia showroom on wheels. The rolling exhibit
includes a full-sized fuselage and cockpit mock up, video
programming, various educational displays and a private area for
current Columbia owners. Pilots, as well as those interested
in becoming pilots, are all invited to this free event to learn
more about aviation and airplane ownership.
”The Columbia 400 is fast, but that’s only part of
what makes it such a special aircraft”, said Columbia
Southwest Sales Manager John Cooke, “It is also one of the
safest planes on the market today, at a lower price than other
planes which do not perform nearly as well.”
”With the Columbia 400, a 1,000-mile non-stop trip is only
around is only about four hours long," says Cooke. Given the longer
waits at commercial airports -- combined with cancellations and
delays – more and more people are owning and flying their own
airplanes." When you take a good look at all the costs involved, it
can easily be one of the most inexpensive forms of
transportation.”
