OSH2014 Sponsor: Eclipse Aerospace -- In Full Production!

The Eclipse 550: Economical. Efficient. Incredible.

The Eclipse 550 not only has the lowest acquisition cost of any twin-engine jet on the planet, it also has the lowest operating costs and is the most fuel-efficient twin-engine jet in production today.

But its efficiencies don’t end with cost and fuel burn. We build the Eclipse to be incredibly simple to operate and maintain.

Designed to be flown single-pilot, the Eclipse 550 comes standard with an advanced Integrated Flight Management System (IFMS) that acts as a virtual copilot as you fly, increasing situational awareness, monitoring systems, and giving you over speed and under speed protection with the only Auto Throttle in the light jet market. The simplicity of flight that the IFMS provides is truly unrivaled in our class.

Want to fly a jet that is simple to maintain? The Eclipse 550 comes standard with a 3-year nose-to-tail warranty, and you can choose to participate in a parts program after your warranty expires to give you peace of mind. When you consider the low costs, the industry leading warranty, and the ongoing service that Eclipse provides, you can quickly see that the economic advantages of the Eclipse continue for as long as you own one.

What does this mean for you? It means that you can step into a jet aircraft with confidence in your ability pilot the aircraft safely because the advanced technologies that are contained in the IFMS were designed to make safe flight a simple proposition. It means that you will save time and money every time you start the engines of your Eclipse 550. It means that you can be a jet pilot.

Did You Know? REALLY Cool Facts About Eclipse Aerospace

  1. The Eclipse 550 was designed to be flowing single pilot – and it is the only twin-engine jet whose original certification allows for single pilot flight?
  2. The Eclipse 550 has the lowest acquisition cost of any twin-engine jet in production today ($2.895MM)
  3. The Eclipse Jet also has the lowest direct operating cost (DOC) of any twin-engine jet in the world ($1.98 /nm at $5.60 per gallon).
  4. The Eclipse 550 comes standard with an Anti-Skid Braking System, which in testing took the Eclipse Jet from landing speed to complete stop in 700 feet!
  5. The Eclipse 550 has available features such as Synthetic Vision, Auto Throttles, Enhanced Vision, Dual IFMS, Stormscope, TAWS, TAS, and more!
  6. Green Fact #1: Eclipse was the first jet manufacturer to use Friction Stir Welding (FSW) as a manufacturing process. FSW saves more than 1,600 man-hours of work per jet, forms a stronger bond than traditional riveting, and is a completely smoke-free method of bonding.
  7. Green Fact #2: The Eclipse Jet is the only aviation manufacturer in the world to replace Halon (an ozone depleting, toxic agent found in fire suppression systems) with a non-toxic, non-ozone depleting chemical, PhostrEx.
  8. Green Fact #3: The Eclipse Jet is the most fuel-efficient twin-engine jet in the world (59 gallons per hour).
  9. Green Fact #4: In the Eclipse, smoke emissions are released at rate 50 times lower than regulatory limits
  10. The integrated Avio flight management system includes coupled autopilot, geo-referencing charts, and detailed satellite weather overlays. It is the world’s most advanced glass cockpit for light jets.
