Trans States Pilots Reach Tentative Contract Extension Agreement With Management

Includes Pay Adjustments, Work Rule Modifications

The pilots of Trans States Airlines (TSA), represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), have reached a tentative agreement on a contract extension with TSA management that includes gains in economics and work rules.

“This contract extension is significant for the TSA pilots,” said Capt. Zach Barnes, chairman of the Trans States Airlines Master Executive Council (MEC), the TSA branch of ALPA. “Our last round of negotiations that resulted in our current contract took more than five years, so we are pleased that this contract extension has been reached just three weeks after our contract’s amendable date.”
 
Capt. Barnes added, “This three-year agreement includes, among other improvements, annual cost-of-living pay increases for all pilots, a significant increase in first-year first officer pay, an increase to the per diem rate, a reduction to the percentage pilots pay for health insurance premiums, an increase to the company’s 401(k) contributions, and a retention bonus.”

TSA’s pilot leaders reviewed the specific terms of the tentative agreement at a special meeting today and voted unanimously to submit the agreement to the pilot group for ratification. They also recommended that the pilots vote in favor of the agreement.
 
More than 500 professional pilots fly a fleet of regional jets for Trans States under the United Express and American Eagle livery.
