NASA Interns Head To Japan Space Law Confab

Moot Court In Conjunction With Astronautical Congress Meeting

Two NASA law interns in the agency's Office of the General Counsel (OGC), Washington, have won a chance to compete in the World Finals of the Space Law Moot Court.

This year's competition is in October in Fukuoka, Japan. It is part of the International Institute of Space Law Symposium, in conjunction with the International Astronautical Congress.

The interns, Olivia Hussey and Kristie Blase, are both students at the George Washington University National Law Center, Washington. They earned the chance by taking first place in the North American Finals of the competition. Hussey is from Bradenton, Fla. and Blase is from Wheaton, Md. The duo competed against law teams from the US, Mexico and Canada.

Steve Mirmina, a senior attorney on NASA's OGC Commercial and International Law Practice Team, coached the students for the event.
