TrueNorth Teams With StandardAero For Gulfstream STCs

New FAA STCs Cover System Installations On Gulfstream III, IV, G450, G500 And G550 Models

TrueNorth Avionics has announced it has teamed with StandardAero, Springfield, IL, to earn FAA Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) for system installations on the Gulfstream III, IV, G450, G500 and G550 aircraft models. Continuing the rapid market acceptance of TrueNorth’s Simphone¯ OpenCabin airborne telecommunications system, this announcement provides for simplified installation and certification of communications upgrades on Gulfstream aircraft.

“It’s clear that Gulfstream operators, who are among the most discriminating business aviation fliers, understand the importance of being able to fly, connect and succeed in their professional and personal lives, so this development makes it more convenient for them to add the systems they need to do just that,” said Mark van Berkel, TrueNorth’s president.

A revolutionary software-centric system, the Simphone¯ (pronounced ‘symphony’) OpenCabin system brings an unprecedented degree of reliability, operator control and communications capabilities to business aviation. Since existing airborne telecom systems were heavy, complex, expensive to install and operate, and prone to obsolescence, TrueNorth developed a solution that addressed all those concerns, with benefits that include an integrated system with less hardware to install; app-based to scale for the future; an intelligent interface to enhance the user experience; and the ability to easily add a wide variety of custom features. The company’s newest advance is the TrueNorth Stylus, the industry’s first-ever multilingual handset. The TrueNorth Stylus is available in wired and wireless version, and offers HD Voice Quality and a design that can be uniquely personalized to match an operator’s cabin décor.
