Elixir Aircraft Continues Building Momentum

Club Sales & Banner Deals with Airbus Flight Academy Build a Name for the New Kid on the Block

Elixir Aircraft has slowly been making its way into the European GA market, sealing deals here and there as they increase production and build up the brand.

Their recent deals included a sale of 2 brand new CS-23 Elixirs to Aero-Club Brocard, a volunteer organization that found the plane the perfect addition to their fleet. The Elixir represents a rare deal for the Parisian club, being a domestic aircraft made in France, not too far away from their home base in La Rochelle. Brocard began checking out their instructors early on, familiarizing themselves with the planes and preparing to teach future operators and students once the Parisian flying club took delivery of their brand new steeds. Brocard cited the modern equipment and low running costs as key factors of the purchase, but it not to mention the obvious ramp appeal of a sleek, low-wing speedster perfect for pulling in additional members.

The president of Brocard Flying Club, Alain Provost, says that the Elixir had what it took to bring them aboard from the first flight. "As president,” he said, “what attracted me was the visit we made to La Rochelle. It was the meeting with the team that we liked. The team is talented, we found it responsive and every point on the plane is well thought out. All the studies we have done together give us a good view of the operating costs. In particular the replacement of the ‘heavy aircraft’. The little flight I took literally blew me away."

Similarly, last month saw the purchase of 4 Elixirs for Airbus Flight Academy Europe, to operate from their brand new campus. The new training location selected the Elixir just like the Brocard Club, in addition to the brand's self-described "ultra frugal consumption and greatly reduced noise pollution". With typical French panáche, Elixir says its plane offers a not just efficiency and affordability, but "ecological and economic sobriety". As a modern LSA, it boasts the safety bonafides expected in the segment, offering an airframe parachute and modern avionics. For Airbus, it was an added bonus to have support facilities less than 2 hours away, allowing the two to guarantee a higher level of after-sales service and training. Jean Longobardi, president of Airbus Flight Academy, affirmed their excitement for the fresh new entry to the industry.

"The choice of the Elixir Aircraft is fully in line with the global strategy of sustainable development aiming at a progressive decarbonisation of the training delivered by Airbus Flight Academy Europe. The qualities of the Elixir and the dynamism of this young company from La Rochelle have totally convinced us. We can't wait to line up the first Elixir in our colors in the car park!"
