Textron Honors Lufthansa Flight Training For European 'High Utilization'

Has Racked Up More Than 34,000 Hours In Five Citation Aircraft

Textron has announced that Germany’s Lufthansa Flight Training is the winner of its 2016 High Utilization Award for Europe, reinforcing the longstanding relationship between the two companies.

“We are delighted once again to recognize the high utilization achievements of Lufthansa Flight Training, which underlines how well suited Citations are to pilot training,” said Brad Thress, senior vice president, Customer Service, Textron Aviation. “We are very happy that our relationship with Lufthansa is now also yielding benefits for our other customers, with the recent opening of a Textron Aviation line maintenance facility in Bremen, Germany – space we share with Lufthansa. We look forward to continuing the strong relationship between our companies many years into the future.”

With more than 34,300 hours of flight time to date across its fleet of five Cessna Citation CJ1+ business jets, Lufthansa Flight Training boasts the highest total-hour aircraft in the global CJ1+ fleet. Having won Textron Aviation’s Aircraft Utilization Award every year since 2012, this award underscores the airline’s commitment to the best in pilot training and highlights the reliability and suitability of the CJ1+ to flight training missions.

As two of the industry’s leading aerospace companies, Lufthansa Flight Training and Textron Aviation have enjoyed a long and successful relationship since 2008, when Lufthansa took delivery of its first Citation for its flight training program.

Europe is home to more than 1,600 Textron Aviation aircraft, the largest installed base of any manufacturer. The company is dedicated to supporting European customers by focusing on enhancing capabilities throughout its maintenance network. With six Textron Aviation service centers and five line maintenance sites in the region, European customers have direct access to services and the experts who designed, engineered and built their aircraft.
