Bombardier To Launch Challenger 605 MAX Program

Designed To Lower Direct Maintenance Costs And Enhance Customer Experience

Bombardier Aerospace says it is reinforcing its leadership in providing in-service solutions for its operators with the announcement Wednesday of its new Challenger 605 MAX Program. The proactive program is designed to further reduce direct maintenance costs (DMC) and improve overall customer experience of the in-service Challenger 605 business jet fleet.

Under the Challenger 605 MAX Program, Bombardier will replace key components with the latest configurations that meet the baseline operational level of the current production model. At virtually no cost, Bombardier will provide customers with these upgrades in order to improve dispatch availability, significantly reduce DMCs, increase component meantime between unscheduled removals (MTBUR), lower No-Fault-Found rates and improve customer experience.

The Challenger 605 MAX Program builds on the impressive success of the Challenger 300 MAX Program. Under the Challenger 300 MAX Program, which was launched in 2012, the company has installed over 4,000 components on some 340 Challenger 300 aircraft. Bombardier is the first aircraft manufacturer to voluntarily offer fleet reliability initiatives of this nature and scale.

"At Bombardier, we continue to invest in innovative solutions to lower operating costs, improve dispatch availability and generally enhance the ownership experience for our operators," said Andy Nureddin, Vice President, Customer Services and Support, Bombardier Business Aircraft. "The Challenger 605 MAX Program is a systematic and targeted campaign to bring the performance of the category-leading Challenger 605 fleet to a world-class level and is another example of Bombardier's ongoing commitment to its products and operators."

All current Challenger 605 aircraft operators will be eligible for the Challenger 605 MAX Program, which will be introduced to the fleet in the first half of 2014. Bombardier's In-Service Implementation Team (ISIT) will be coordinating scheduling and logistics based on each operator's scheduled downtime. Work will be performed at a wholly owned Bombardier Service Centre or any Authorized Service Facility certified for the Challenger 605 aircraft.
