Airborne 09.04.20: Mooney Returns!, Prop Try n Fly, Midwest LSA Expo

Also: NEW Dates for DeLand Sport Av Showcase, Gogo Sells CommAv Biz, Eclipse SynVis and Autothrottle, I/ITSEC Cancelled

The rumors have been ghosting around for a few weeks, but the airplane that would not die appears to have resurrected itself again... for the umpteenth time.

For Mooney owners and fans, this is good news, but the details of this new development promises some interesting Mooney Watching for the next few years. The wraps came off the whole works late yesterday when a notice was posted to the Mooney website, addressed to, "...The Mooney Community" and authored by Mooney CEO Jonny Pollack. "We are pleased to announce that as of September 1, 2020, a long awaited transition at Mooney took place..." OK... this has to be one of the better ideas we've heard of lately... especially since it deals with a part of the aircraft that most pilots equate with Black Magic -- the PROP. Have you ever wanted to try another propeller on your airplane to see if it gave you better performance... but just didn't want to commit to a purchase that you might not like -- and probably couldn't return. Well; courtesy of Mike Tomazin and DUC Propeller, you now have an opportunity to try a new propeller without spending a dollar. The Midwest LSA Expo is ON, and we're so excited about it, we're thinking of loading up and heading there for ourselves next weekend. Scheduled for September 10 – 12, 2020 (next week!) at the Mt. Vernon Outland Airport (KMVN) in Mt. Vernon, IL (way down at the South end of the state), the 12th Midwest LSA Expo is confirmed to be ON, as of today (and not likely to change)! The FREE event features many Light Sport Aircraft, including Part 103, STOL (Short Take off and Land) and Gyroplanes on one easily accessible and demo friendly flightline. Sit in one or many informative aviation seminars/forums presented by some of the best in the industry. It’s all there, this September 10-12, and again, let us emphasize that it's got free admission, free parking, free local shuttles, and free camping! All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
