Big And Small, Aviation Events Continue To Be Impacted
A great model aviation event has fallen to the COVID Pandemic... Originally scheduled for October 2-3, for Eli Field in Monticello, Il, the 2020 RC Fest won't happen this year.
Year after year Horizon RC Fest has grown to be a staple event for Horizon Hobby to bring thousands of people have together to enjoy everything radio control.
Event organizers tell us that, "We were hoping that moving Horizon RC Fest out to a later date in October would allow it to happen in 2020. Current regulations and guidelines in Illinois for large gatherings and social distancing are not in our favor at this time and we are not sure what they will be in October.
Unfortunately, there are still too many unknowns and we have decided in the safety and health of our attendees, vendors, participants, spectators and staff that we cancel Horizon RC Fest for 2020. Preparation’s and plans have already begun for 2021 so we hope to see you then! More details about Horizon RC Fest 2021 will be available in the coming months."
Each year, the Horizon RC Fest is a hands-on, fun-focused RC celebration for the entire family. Conducted by Horizon Hobby, this two day event features an RC airshow, drone racing, RC product demonstrations, giveaways and more! The event also allows attendees to get hands-on with all kinds of RC vehicles and aircraft, and is an AMA Sanctioned event so they scheduled plenty of open-flying for pilots with an AMA membership.
