Swedish National Police Provide Testimonials on Bell Aircraft

Paris Air Show Sees Manufacturers Angling for New Business

Bell was thanked for its help with the Swedish National Police (SNP) rescue mission after it completed more than 4,500 completed missions using the 429.

The treacherous mountain scape of the Swedish homeland results in frequent search & rescue missions, with more than 500 missing person cases due to hiking incidents and avalanches. Since delivering the Bell 429 to the SNP, other countries have begun to follow suit and jump into the quick, reliable helicopter. Its 155-knot top speed has proven consistently popular with SAR crews aiming to minimize patient exposure and maximize the golden hour, helped along by the surveillance suite equipped on every SNP 429. (Their scanning equipment, it may be noted, is just as good as surveilling everyday events as it is scouring the hills for injured hikers, but the SAR mission is much more friendly to publicize.)

“With the Bell 429, we can perform advanced missions that give us increased visibility to respond to a variety of public safety missions. Not only can we perform more missions using the Bell 429, but we can also complete them quickly and safely,” said Officer Lindell, flight operations manager for the Swedish National Police.

Whether or not the positive testimonials will translate to any sales at the Paris Air show will have to be seen, but Bell generally walks away from such events with a few more orders in its logbook.
