WSI is one of the most well-known 'names' in aviation whenever
the subject of weather comes up... and for a darned good reason.
The company keeps inventing and innovating their technologies and
services in order to find ways to serve all aspects of aviation and
the industries that use aviation as part of their daily
business.
One of the more intriguing products for 2011 is WSI Fusion...
WSI tells ANN that their 'Fusion' product 'is a proactive
operations management solution that fuses public and proprietary
weather information, airspace constraints, flight information, and
operational data into a unified and clear operational picture to
streamline and enhance operational decision making. WSI Fusion
helps dispatchers, operations personnel, and managers stay aware
and ahead of changing conditions, mitigate the impact of disruptive
events, and ultimately stay on plan, on time, and on budget.'
WSI Hubcast is geared toward airport operations. WSI Hubcast
delivers comprehensive, easy-to-interpret forecasts for improved
evaluation and management of inclement weather events and sends
lightning strike warnings (by text message or email) to designated
personnel for enhanced ground worker safety. All information can be
accessed via any internet-connected PC, so there’s no
hardware to install and minimal training to operate.
'Airport details' have been upgraded... A dispatcher may review
a dynamic route briefing including alternate airport data, if
integrated. The routes tab displays a flight plan filed route, as
well as all route amendments recorded for a flight, once airborne.
A visualization of the flight’s vertical profile and fuel
burn down may be found on the profile tab. The design of this
extensible interface allows for expansion of next generation
products and services.
Airport Details has been expanded to include NOTAMS and a
proprietary Air Traffic Management assessment of traffic flow
management initiatives, airborne holding, and recent diversions.
This aeronautical information management portal allows for
interface extensions to include airport specific data as supplied
by flight operations such as critical phone numbers, hours of
operation and field conditions, among others.
