A J Walter Aviation And Its Partners Win 5-Year Deal
Thomas Cook Airlines has awarded A J Walter Aviation a
multi-million dollar contract to provide component
power-by-the-hour and leasing support for its A320 and A330 family
aircraft based in the UK and Scandinavia. Winning this long-term 5
year agreement is yet another step forward for AJW who led a
partnership of BA Engineering and Iberia Maintenance &
Engineering to deliver successfully on what was a comprehensive
requirement.
"This has certainly been one of the more challenging
competitions we have entered" says Boris Wolstenholme, Chief
Executive "but with a low cost base, world class logistics and a
flexible commercial approach we have been able to satisfy the
stringent requirements demanded of us in this important contract".
"AJW was also able to draw on the vast knowledge and experience of
its partners in this process, particularly in respect of their
relevant Airbus fleet operations and workshop capabilities."
"This was a very detailed, thorough and robust tender
process," said Frank Pullman, Managing Director of Thomas Cook
Airlines. "We have been impressed by AJW's professional attitude
and delivery at all stages of this process and have confidence in
its ability to deliver on all our expectations." The contract
covers Thomas Cook Airlines' A320 and A330 family operations in the
UK and Scandinavia. The contract, which kicks in January 1, 2011 is
made up of seven A330s, ten A321s, and a dozen A320s.
AJW says this new contract underlines the benefits of PBH, pooling
and leasing options available from the company. Already highly
regarded for its award-winning 24/7 AOG and critical services, AJW
is currently growing its total repair management and consignment
component services. It is also now able to provide line maintenance
consumable consignment and replenishment services. Across all these
services, AJW is able to guarantee availability to match dispatch
reliability requirements.
