Annual Gala Brings In More Than A Half-Million In Donations
Corporate Angel Network (CAN) raised over $510,000 through sponsorships, donations and auction items at its annual event, the Fund an Angel Cocktail Reception. Over 600 business aviation leaders in town for the 2019 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), gathered at the Wynn Las Vegas on Wednesday, October 23 to support CAN’s mission of helping cancer patients access the best treatment centers in the country by arranging free travel on corporate aircraft.
“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the business aviation community,” said CAN Executive Director Gina Russo. “The funds raised at this event, coupled with the year-round support of participating corporations, enable CAN to transport thousands of patients each year who without CAN’s help, may not be able to seek treatment at a leading cancer center.”
The two-hour reception allowed ample time for networking with industry peers, while participating in a silent auction to support CAN’s critical mission. The auction featured an array of items and exclusive experiences. “It was a wonderful way to not only raise significant funds for the organization, but to show CAN’s appreciation to the aviation community for its ongoing support,” continued Russo. “We look forward to building upon this year’s success and hosting another exciting event next year.” The 2020 Fund an Angel Cocktail Reception is scheduled for October 7 in Orlando, FL.
