Man Tries To Leave Flight At Altitude

Not Again, Part One

A man on his way to receive psychological treatment in Fort Lauderdale became agitated onboard a US Airways flight Tuesday, and then proceeded to try and open the door as the plane, coming in from Philadelphia, started its descent to land.

The Associated Press reports six male passengers joined two US air marshals in restraining the unidentified man, who had started nervously pacing the cabin shortly before his apparent escape attempt.

The Associated Press reports he is now undergoing a 72-hour psychological evaluation... and charges may be pending.

As a public service, Aero-News would like to once again remind everyone that... the adventures of D.B. Cooper aside... it is virtually impossible to open the door of a modern airliner while in flight. And we really wish people would stop trying to do so.
