CenTex Aerospace Receives Brazilian Approval For King Air Conversion

ANAC (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil) Validates The HALO 250 Conversion For 200 Series Aircraft

Brazil’s Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC) has granted approval to CenTex Aerospace for their HALO 250 conversion for the Beechcraft 200 series King Airs. The FAA issued their STC approval to CenTex on October 16th 2012, and then on January 22nd of 2013 Transport Canada issued their approval. ANAC’s certification follows similar approval from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), which will be in hand within the first quarter of 2014.

“We are very pleased to have successfully completed ANAC certification,” said Greg Barnes, President of CenTex Aerospace. “The ANAC validation of the Halo 250 conversion STC enables us to offer the conversion to the many King Air 200 operators in Brazil and neighboring countries.”

The Halo 250 conversion allows any King Air 200 series airplane to carry up to 920 pounds more payload by increasing the maximum takeoff weight from 12,500 to 13,420 pounds. A new Airplane Flight Manual supplement is included with performance data for planning the takeoff flight path to 1,500 feet AGL and the landing approach flight path in normal and icing conditions.

It also adds five new safety systems that make the King Air 200 safer to operate. The new safety systems provide improved stall warning in icing conditions, aural over-speed and elevator out-of-trim warnings, engine fire extinguisher capability, emergency cabin lighting, and illuminated escape path floor markings.
The HALO 250 conversion is compatible with Proline 21 and G1000 avionics and many of the other popular King Air 200 modifications, including those offered by Raisbeck Engineering and Blackhawk.
