Source: FAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory, in a statement to the Chicago Tribune. The FAA says Chicago Mayor Richard Daley was out of bounds when he ordered the destruction of Meigs Field more than two years ago and has fined the city the maximum amount possible. But that byno means ends Chicago's trouble in the wake of the midnight bulldozing. The city still faces the possibility of a much larger fine -- as the investigation into allegations that Daley misused $1.5 million in FAA grants continues.
