Salian Airport Authority Selects Jviation For Taxiway Project

Contractor Will Design Improvements To Two Taxiways

The Salina Airport Authority announced the selection of Jviation, a planning design, and construction administration firm, to design scheduled improvements to Taxiways Bravo and Echo.

"We are really excited to be chosen," said Ed Young, Jviation senior program manager and the Salina project director.  "We really want to invest in this airport and this community.  That means a quality program, quality design, quality engineering and quality planning."

The selection and contracting of a consulting firm for a Federal Aviation Administration funded Airport Improvement Program project involves at least a dozen federal regulations and FAA Advisory Circulars.

The Salina Airport Authority selection committee reviewed five airport consulting firms' statements of qualifications and interest and narrowed the list to three for interviews. "Jviation's commitment to airport development consulting services proved to be a deciding factor," said Tim Rogers, A.A.E., Salina Airport Authority executive director and member of the committee that made the selection.  "The firm will enhance the Airport Authority's efforts to continue the growth at the SLN Aviation Service Center."

Contract negotiations will begin immediately with the design work scheduled to be completed in 2014.  Bidding will begin in 2015 for spring and summer construction work.
