Safari Extends Kit Helo TBO

Increases overhaul maintenance and inspection schedule from 200 to 250 hours

Canadian Home Rotors Inc. (CHR), manufacturers of the award-winning Safari Helicopter Kit, has announced an enhancement and benefit to Safari owners.

Through long and thorough testing, the company has reached a decision to extend the maintenance intervals and TBO time for the Safari. To date the maintenance intervals for the Safari have been set at 200 hours, almost two years of flying for most private pilots. Now they will extend the maintenance schedule to 250 hours between these significant maintenance periods. That's a 25% increase.

According to CHR, this will be one of the longest inspection periods in the homebuilt helicopter industry and most of the certified helicopter industry as well. To its customers, this will work out to a further savings of over $800 over 1,000 hours of operation.
