Thielert Touts 250 Service Centers At End Of 2007

Added 93 New Centers, Seven New Sales Partners This Year

Looking to make a big impression in the emerging market for diesel-powered piston aircraft engines, Thielert Aircraft Engines GmbH significantly expanded its sales and service center network in 2007.

Thielert -- which bills itself as the world's leading provider of kerosene piston aircraft engines -- increased its 2007 service network to 250 service centers, including 25 sales partners. In the US, the number of service centers has been doubled. In addition, Thielert is training a technical representative for the North American region to improve accessibility for customers when they have technical questions.

In 2007, Thielert authorized a total of 93 aviation companies as partners after they completed maintenance training courses. As Centurion service centers, they can now perform service and maintenance work on the kerosene piston aircraft engines. Thielert plans to expand service further, particularly in the US. With 31 new partners, the number of North American service centers has more than doubled in 2007.

Besides the current 58 service centers, the company will increase its availability in the US regional market through the appointment of a technical representative and by adding to the inventory in its Dallas, TX subsidiary. As ANN reported, Thielert acquired Superior Air Parts in March 2006.

The new employee is currently participating in intensive training at the Thielert headquarters in Saxony.

"With a total of 250 service centers, we can now offer our customers one of the largest networks in General Aviation," says Jasper M. Wolffson, Head of Sales and Service at Thielert. "Through the new partners, we are getting even closer to aircraft operators. Now that we have already ensured local service to a great extent, we will now further reduce the response times of our technical support and also speed up spare parts deliveries by setting up warehouses and expanding production capacities. All in all, we are entering the new year with considerably improved service."

Besides the additional service centers, Thielert also contracted seven new sales partners in 2007, who are responsible for the sales of kerosene piston aircraft engines.
