Las Vegas' Most Extreme Attraction Takes Flight In San Diego

Sky Combat Ace Invites Thrill-Seekers To Experience Aerial Adventures High Above The San Diego Coastline

The extreme adventure Sky Combat Ace (SCA) has opened its 2nd location in San Diego, offering an opportunity to grab the controls of high-performance stunt planes to experience aerial dogfights and wild aerobatic flights of non-stop spins, barrel rolls and loops high above the San Diego coast.

On July 1st, Las Vegas-based Sky Combat Ace will debut its aerobatic and aerial combat experiences in San Diego with its newest outpost located at Gillespie Field. Participants zip up their flight suits and choose their sky chariot—SCA's Extra 330LC aerobatic stunt plane capable of pulling +/- 10 G's; or turn back the clock and become a WWI barnstormer in SCA's authentic Waco Classic open cockpit biplane. Guided by an expert SCA pilot, adrenaline junkies take the controls to live out their "Iceman" or "Maverick" fantasies for the ultimate interactive experience and the thrill ride of a lifetime that only SCA can provide.

SCA pilots-for-a-day will perform aerobatic maneuvers only seen in airshows over the Pacific Ocean, or chase "adversaries" through the California skies at up to 250 mph with the "Adrenaline Rush" or "Sky Combat" experience.

With packages starting at just $299, SCA San Diego delivers something for everyone with four types of experiences, whether for a first-timer or seasoned adrenaline enthusiast:

  • Aerobatic Flights – You fly the plane and become wingman to one of SCA's professional fighter pilots as you perform thrilling stunts, such as loops, rolls, spins, hammerhead stalls, tail slides and tumbles.
  • Air Combat Packages – Reenact your favorite "Top Gun" moment as you chase your opponent through the sky like a real fighter pilot. Feel the thrill of "the kill" as you aim and shoot your adversary using SCA's special effects. If your aim is good, you'll get instantaneous feedback as smoke flows from your opponent's plane. Fight's on!
  • Extreme Sightseeing Tours – In an open-cockpit biplane fit for two (plus a pilot), enjoy aerial views of the San Diego coastline while flying within 500' of landmarks such as the Coronado Bridge, Point Loma, downtown San Diego and the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier.
  • Combination Packages – If you want the best of all worlds, SCA will combine the most popular elements from all three flight profiles for a combination package.

SCA San Diego is open 10a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Monday
