Heli-Expo 2008: Air Methods Adds More Bell 407s To Its Fleet

Six New Helos Will Join Over 20 Other 407s

Bell Helicopter announced Monday at Heli-Expo 2008 in Houston, TX that Air Methods, headquartered in Englewood, CO is adding six additional 407 model helicopters to its fleet.

"Bell's 407 is in high demand by many hospital programs throughout the county," said Archie Gray, Vice President of Technical Services at Air Methods. "The purchase of additional 407s positions Air Methods to meet customer requirements throughout our operating system. The speed, payload and range offered by the 407s in this fleet addition will help us meet the challenging mission profiles faced by our crews."

Bell regional sales manager Greg Maitlen added, "Air Methods has relied on Bell products since 1981. These six new aircraft will join more than 20 Bell 407s already in their fleet. In addition to these 407s, Air Methods also has 40 Bell 429s on order."

The world's largest air ambulance operator, Air Methods operates a fleet of more than 330 aircraft. Its Community-Based Model division provides air medical transportation services in 18 states, and its Hospital-Based Model division provides air medical transportation services to hospitals located in 26 states.
