Aero-TV: An Oshkosh 2016 Update - Expanding The Redbird Revolution

Pilots Get a More Realistic Visual Systems, and Desktop Simulators Add Options…

Redbird Flight Simulations has revolutionized simulation training in so many ways it’s hard to keep track of their latest innovation. That’s why ANN News Editor, Tom Patton, checked in with Redbird at EAA AirVenture 2016 to see what’s new and what’s changed.

Tom spoke with Charlie Gregoire, the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Redbird Flight Simulations. In this video you’re going to get a taste of everything from their higher-end simulators to their desktop models. There is some really cool stuff here!

For the high-end simulators Redbird is now offering the horizon pro package which adds two additional monitors for peripheral vision that wraps almost 270 degrees around the pilot. It’s a simulator that allows the pilot to actually look back behind the wing.

Redbird Flight Simulations innovation in the desktop flight simulator regime is also getting even better with new add-ons to make the flight control system and throttle system more realistic. All of these are designed to be used at home for practice, and Gregoire mentions that many people literally build their own simulators around the desktop devices.

Last, but certainly not least, is Redbird’s VTO helicopter simulator. The one on display at Oshkosh was configured as a Robinson R22, but it can also be configured as an R44 or a Bell model 47.

You don’t want to miss all the goodies that are covered in this video!
