Radar Altimeters Approved For Mobile Installation Program
National Flight Services, a helicopter maintenance and avionics installation facility, has selected FreeFlight System's RA4000 and RA4500 series radar altimeters for their mobile installation program. National Flight Service will begin installs during the first week of January 2017 and will equip more than 25 helicopters operating under Part 135 tourism operations in the southern United States.
This installation is in response to the FAA mandate that requires Part 135 and airborne medical transport operators to equip with additional safety equipment such as radar altimeters aimed at improving situational awareness and safety. The equipage deadline for this requirement is April 24th, 2017.
"We are excited to work with National Flight Services on this program, said Pete Ring, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for FreeFlight Systems. "The FreeFlight Systems family of radar altimeters provides a proven, high performance solution that is ideal for these challenging rotorcraft operations. Our flexibility, short lead times and cost effective solutions fit very well into the National Flight Services business model."
National Flight Services innovative approach to business is a win - win for all involved, especially the operators who don't have to travel for their installations. This approach saves money and time by bringing experienced professionals that can perform the job quickly and efficiently right to the customer's doorstep.
