EAA's Young Eagles Get A $15,000 Boost From 'One Six Right' Filmmaker

Terwilliger Presents Check From Oshkosh Sales

Perhaps no other film has done more to promote the cause of general aviation as the acclaimed documentary "One Six Right" -- and certainly, no other aviation-related film in recent memory has received as much praise from the flying community.

Filmmaker Brian Terwilliger recently wrapped up a nationwide tour for his film where it all started -- at Van Nuys Airport in California. He also had a gift for the EAA's Young Eagles program.

At Oshkosh 2006, it was announced that each DVD copy sold during the month of July and at AirVenture would create a $5 donation to EAA's Young Eagles program. More than 3,000 DVDs were sold -- and during the December 2 screening at VNY, Terwilliger presented a check for $15,395 to EAA President Tom Poberezny.

"We're very grateful to accept this generous donation from the makers of this wonderful film," Poberezny said. "We're also proud to have been a catalyst in its popularity in the aviation community by having the special screenings at EAA AirVenture. The mission behind One Six Right and the Young Eagles program come from the same script... the preservation and perpetuation of our shared passion for flight."

While on the West Coast, Poberezny met with EAA Chapter members and leaders, airport authorities, and other members of the aviation community.

"This celebration was a homecoming of sorts for various members of the general aviation community," Poberezny said, "I was able to interact and lay groundwork for several EAA initiatives, including preparations for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2007."
