EASA has sent a letter to the FAA and Boeing outlining five major requirements the agency says need to be addressed before it will allow the Boeing 737 MAX to return to service in Europe.

The issues identified by EASA parallel the FAA's concerns. The FAA said that the agency "confirm(s) the specific matters being raised by EASA but said: “The FAA continues to work closely with other validating civil aviation authorities on our review of Boeing’s certification documentation for the 737 MAX. This process involves regular communications among all parties" but did not confirm the items specified by EASA. Virgin Galactic and Social Capital Hedosophia, have announced their upcoming merger, with SCH owning up to approximately 49% of the company. Upon closing of the transaction, which is expected in the second half of 2019, VG will be introduced as the first and only publicly traded commercial human spaceflight company. VG is a vertically integrated aerospace company specializing in commercial human spaceflight. Using proven and reusable technology, it intends to offer its customers a unique, multi-day experience culminating in a personal spaceflight that includes out-of-seat zero gravity and views of Planet Earth from space. British pilots Mike Roberts and Nicholas Rogers have successfully flown a Piper Malibu to 16 countries in 24 hours to claim a new World Record. Mike, owner of flying club and flight training school Take Flight Aviation, based at Wellesbourne Airfield, Warwickshire and Nicholas Rogers, a B737 Captain based at Birmingham Airport, undertook the challenge on Tuesday, June 25th. They now await formal verification of their feat from Guinness, which currently lists the most countries visited by a fixed wing aircraft in 24 hrs as 11. Mike and Nicholas embarked on the initiative to raise awareness of the ongoing campaign to Save Wellesbourne Airfield, which since 2015 has been under threat from closure from its Landlords. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
