Establishes New Aircraft Completions Subsidiary
Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) debuted a new subsidiary ... Sierra Completions ... at NBAA2014. Sierra Completions met with Tier 1 companies in the aviation industry to advance negotiations with its strategic partners and key customers. The company is expected to receive its first commercial aircraft for design and completion in 2015.
“SNC has a great history and depth of experience in aircraft design, modification, integration and modernization," said SNC President Eren Ozmen. "The emergence of the next generation composite aircraft will provide an excellent opportunity for Sierra Completions to demonstrate its extensive capabilities and will complement SNC’s existing aviation offerings. Our vision for Sierra Completions is to position it as the premier provider for general aviation completions of composite aircraft.”
SNC, through its mergers, acquisitions and subsidiaries, continues to promote new capabilities as it expands its tradition of excellence into new growth areas. The vision of creating a world-class aviation design and completion complex is a natural progression of SNC’s five decades of work in aircraft systems design, modification, integration, modernization, testing and certification for manned and unmanned government and commercial aircraft, and certified aircraft maintenance.
“While the aircraft completions market is a highly-specialized segment with a demanding clientele, we have the backing of SNC, which has been in the aerospace and defense business for over 50 years and has modified and integrated over 200 aircrafts of various sizes. Sierra Completions brings a unique set of capabilities with the design and completions component for composite airframes,” said Jon Burgoyne, president of Sierra Completions. “There is a global customer demand for a financially- and technically-strong, proven performance partner in this market segment and we are committed to being the premier global partner.”
Sierra Completions’ state-of-the-art completion center includes a design and engineering facility and hangers to accommodate the largest aircraft in operation. The center will be housed within a world premier aerospace park. Further announcements on the complex will be made in the coming months.
