Pact Continues Agreement Between Rockwell Collins and L-3
L-3 Avionics Systems has announced that its GH-3900 Electronic
Standby Instrument System (ESIS) has been selected by Rockwell
Collins for the company’s Pro Line Fusion integrated avionics
system. The contract is for 10 years with production units slated
for 2012.
“For more than 10 years, L-3 and Rockwell Collins have
been bringing our respective technologies together to benefit the
market,” said Larry Riddle, vice president of business
development. “The combination of our electronic standby
system with Rockwell Collins’ Pro Line Fusion avionics system
provides a complete cockpit solution that enhances
situational
awareness and safety.”
The GH-3900 is the next generation in L-3 Avionics’ GH
series of electronic standby systems. Designed to replace
conventional electro-mechanical standby attitude, airspeed and
altitude instruments, the solid-state GH-3900 ESIS is capable of
providing all three functions, plus heading, slip/skid, navigation
data and vertical speed in a single three-inch flat-panel display.
The GH-3900 features an integrated air data sensor card with pitot
static connections directly to the unit, which eliminates the need
for a remote mounted air data computer. An Active Matrix Liquid
Crystal Display (AMLCD) provides exceptional readability in direct
sunlight as well as dark cockpit environments. The system has the
ability to interface with the aircraft’s navigation systems,
providing more interfaces and flexibility than any other standby on
the market today.
L-3 Avionics Systems has been helping pilots fly for more than
45 years. The company provides a wide array of avionics
technologies designed to improve situational awareness and enhance
safety, such as the GH-3000 electronic and J.E.T. standby
instruments, the SkyWatch Collision Avoidance System, the
Stormscope Weather Mapping System, the SmartDeck Integrated Flight
Controls and Display System and the new Trilogy™ Electronic
Standby Instrument, among others.
