Hang Glider Craig Pirazzi Fatally Injured In Accident

Blown Off A Cliff At Canyonlands National Park

Craig Pirazzi was well known in the hang gliding community for his photography work on such projects as the movie "Free Fliers". Pirazzi was recognized as having captured some of the most spectacular hang gliding images in the world.

On August 25th, while preparing for a flight at Canyonlands National Park in Utah, a sudden gust of wind reportedly caught Pirazzi's hang glider and blew him off a 300-foot cliff, according to the online news site Westworld.

Pirazzi was with two other pilots at the time of the accident. They rappelled down the cliff where Parazzi had fallen, but his injuries proved to be too severe.

Local authorities said the cause of death was severe head and body trauma.
