Companies Announce Development and Supply Agreement
Aviation Safety Resources and SureWings, dealer of the BD-4C-S SureWings edition aircraft, have completed a strategic development and supply agreement that will make ASR’s aircraft emergency parachute recovery standard equipment on this aircraft.
Additionally, SureWings will also be a certified dealer for the ASR aircraft emergency parachute recovery systems.
Effective April 1, 2021 SureWings will begin providing marketing and sales support of the ASR line of products, including the Soteria, aimed at the experimental/sport market, TriChute aimed at the general aviation market and the eXtreme Rapid Deployment (XRD) for the AAM market. This is the first step for ASR to create a collaborative network of representatives and establish certified repair centers.
“As part of our continuing efforts to improve safety in all forms of aviation, ASR is proud to announce a key vendor relationship with SureWings,” said Larry Williams, ASR president and CEO. “In addition to providing the ASR aircraft emergency parachute recovery system for their aircraft, the marketing and sales expands our access to the market.”
Designed by Jim Bede, the BD-4 was the first real kit plane in the world. The design is based on a high-wing cantilever monoplane of conventional design, able to be fitted either with a tail wheel or tricycle undercarriage, as chosen by the builder. The SureWings BD-4-C-S edition is a complete SureWings nose-to-tail conversion with a very specific set of included components.
Under the terms of the long-term cooperative agreement, ASR’s engineering and design team will work with SureWings to design, produce, and test a recovery system that matches the unique dimensions and requirements of the BD-4C-S aircraft kit.
Williams added “ASR is constantly trying to focus on how to best reach and service our broad base of customers. We look forward to a solid and mutually-beneficial, long-term relationship with SureWings.”
