United Airlines, IAM Reach Tentative Agreements

Agreement Covers More Than 28,000 UAL Employees

United Airlines today announced that the company has reached tentative agreements on new joint collective bargaining agreements with the International Association of Machinists (IAM) for the fleet service, passenger service and storekeeper workgroups at its United, Continental, Continental Micronesia and MileagePlus subsidiaries.

United and the IAM reached these agreements with the assistance of the National Mediation Board, and the agreements are subject to ratification by IAM members.

"I want to acknowledge the efforts of the negotiating committee members in reaching these agreements. Our co-workers deserve to have joint agreements that recognize their contribution to our success," said Jon Roitman, senior vice president of airport operations for United.

"Bringing our employees together through joint agreements represents another important step forward for United Airlines. I want to extend our appreciation to the National Mediation Board in helping us reach these agreements," said Mike Bonds, United's executive vice president of human resources and labor relations.

The agreements cover more than 28,000 United employees.
