Ignite Flight Academy Adds New Training Device

one-G Foundation 1G-650 AATD Supplements School’s Curricula

Lincoln, Nebraska-based aviation training facility Ignite Flight Academy is expanding its one-G Advanced Aviation Training Device fleet. The respected Cornhusker State concern will presently supplement its Part 141 and Part 61 professional pilot programs with an additional one-G Foundation 1G-650 AATD by virtue of which learners will be afforded opportunity to sharpen their instrument flying skills via meteorological and equipment challenges at once impractical, unlikely, and unsafe in actual aircraft.

Based on Cessna’s perennially-popular single-reciprocating-engine aircraft series, the one-G Foundation is a model-specific AATD conducive to the integrated instruction of pilots ranging in skill and experience from the greenest pre-solo students to those preparing for Commercial certification. The devices are designed, specifically, for use in high-volume flight schools and comprise three foundational components: the flight simulator, the Instructor Operator Station (IOS), and the web-based Portal. The trio of components integrates seamlessly, providing instructors and learners a convenient and effective training platform.

Ignite Flight Academy president Bill Heckathorn stated: "We are committed to providing our students with the most cost-effective elevated training experience possible, and the one-G Foundation will help us achieve that goal. With its advanced features, realistic instrumentation, and avionics that emulate our actual fleet of aircraft, we are confident that our students will be well prepared for their careers in aviation."

one-G simulation CEO Xylon Saltzman remarked: “One of our goals at one-G is to expand public interest in aviation through the use of our innovative pilot training tools. We’re thrilled to continue supporting Ignite Flight Academy as they effectively grow the pilot population using modern training methods, including the intelligent use of simulation technology. ”

one-G Foundation AATDs are available in emulations of Cessna’s storied 172 Skyhawk, 172RG Cutlass, 182 Skylane, and 182RG Skylane RG. The systems ship with 27-inch retractable LCD screens (an optional three-screen wrap-around configuration is offered) and, completely assembled, can be rolled through a standard pedestrian doorway on the included locking casters.

By way of software, one-G Foundation AATD’s feature the 1G-IOS interactive platform. The application is highly intuitive and provides complete control of all simulator parameters, from geographic location to weather to failures and aircraft systems.  Moreover, the software comprises scenario-building features that make quick work of generating and loading curriculum-paired flight-environment conditions. By dint of a simple touch-screen interface and a ‘platform agnostic’ design that responds to wireless tablets and traditional desktop consoles, the 1G-IOS supports immersive flight-training vastly beyond the capabilities of legacy training devices the likes of Frasca’s ubiquitous 141 model.
