MAG Aero, Wheels Up Announce Partnership

Pilots for Both Companies Able to Swap Between Employers During Leave of Absence, Build Experience

Wheels Up Experience has embarked on a strategic partnership with MAG Aerospace offer improved career opportunities for pilots.

Their new "Pathway Development Program" allows current and former MAG military pilots to transition to employees of Wheels Up after they move into civilian life. The program also allows something of the inverse, where former MAG pilots working for Wheels Up may take a leave of absence to tour with MAG once again. This allows both organizations to combine their pilot pipeline and retain increasingly rare, qualified personnel.

MAG Aerospace is far from the usual charter or private aero operator, building their brand on "Full-Spectrum Joint Domain Command and Control Services'. Pilots at MAG can make use of their MC-208 Guardian, a specially outfitted CASEVAC, ISR, and Strike modified version of the Cessna Caravan.

Pilots working for either company can take advantage of the leave to take on a new role with either partner, granting increased pilot capability as they learn from each environment and cut their teeth on a different set of missions. MAG's unorthodox field of expertise will allow qualified pilots to break into the world of surveillance, air mobility, and even armed reconnaissance, then come back to Wheels Up to continue their civilian career stress-free.

“MAG is a great company to work for with upward mobility, training, and a diversity of departments and programs,” said Mark Town, pilot for MAG Aerospace and Wheels Up. “The opportunity to use that experience to be a part of what Wheels Up is building in private aviation is exciting and a great career path for pilots looking for the next step in their careers.”

“Wheels Up is committed to being the employer of choice in private aviation and partnering with MAG Aerospace is another important way we’re helping pilots build lifelong, rewarding careers,” said Stevens Sainte-Rose, Chief People Officer at Wheels Up. “This talent pipeline is an attractive, accelerated pathway for pilots and allows us to continue to deliver a premium experience for our members by working with the best in the industry.”

“MAG strives to provide veterans with the maximum opportunity to continue to make a difference, “said Robert Heller, Executive Vice President SEC at MAG. “The partnership with Wheels Up will allow pilots to bring the level of commitment and excellence they learned in service and further expand their strategic military skillset into meaningful civilian careers.”
