Flightsafety Wichita's Cessna CJ2 Sim Certificated Level 'D'

FlightSafety's second full-flight simulator for the Cessna CJ2 business jet at the Cessna Learning Center in Wichita a has been Level "D" certificated by the FAA. It features the new VITAL V-9 high definition visual system.

The new Citation 02 simulator is the second in the FlightSafety training system that includes all models of Citation aircraft at nine locations in the FlightSafety Cessna training network.
The advanced 02 simulator is at the leading edge of technology for Level "D" flight simulation. Its host computer is a WinTel Pentium-based unit that fulfills the simulator's need for massive computing power, while offering the flexibility and operational convenience of a mainstream commercial device. The host computer's operating system for simulator control and data manipulation is simplified through the use of commercial software.

The host computer in the advanced CJ2 simulator drives many flight replication features while simultaneously instructing the simulator's multiple subsystem computers, which must work as a team in a fraction of a second, to create the completely accurate cockpit and flight environment required for Level "D" certification.

All the advanced simulators produced by FlightSafety Simulation now benefit from the significant increase in speed and flexibility of the WinTel configuration of the host computer. Wichita Cessna Center's CJ2 simulator is the product of FlightSafety Simulation in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Its new-generation VITAL V-9 visual display that surrounds the cockpit is supplied by FlightSafety Visual Simulation Systems Division in St. Louis, Missouri.
