Charter Commits Organizations To Supporting The Progression Of Women Into Senior Roles In The Aviation And Aerospace Sectors
The Air Charter Association has become a supporting organization of the Women in Aviation and Aerospace Charter. This is a U.K. government initiative that pledges to balance gender across aviation and aerospace.
Aviation is already suffering a substantial skills shortage and the U.K.'s aviation and aerospace sectors are making a commitment to work together to build a more balanced and fair industry for women in order to help promote the exciting opportunities available within it to everyone.
The U.K. Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the Department for Transport have created the initiative which recognises that more needs to be done to enhance the gender balance in these sectors. Organisations that sign up to this Charter are committing to be the very best at driving diversity and inclusion within their sector and providing fair opportunities for women to succeed at the highest levels.
The Charter commits organizations to supporting the progression of women into senior roles in the aviation and aerospace sectors, and aligns with The Air Charter Association's position on encouraging wider diversity in general, inspiring the next generation and encouraging people from all backgrounds to join our industry.
"I am delighted that we have taken the first step in signing up to the Charter," said Nick Weston, Chairman of The Air Charter Association (pictured). 'We encourage members of the Association and all companies in the wider aviation sector to take a closer look at this initiative and join us in signing up to the Charter and to attracting the very best talent into our industry."
