First Flight: Nextant Aerospace 400XT

Successful First Flight Of The Williams FJ44-3AP Engines

A fully equipped Nextant Aerospace 400XT aircraft flew for the first time this past week, at Cuyahoga County Airport in Ohio. The flight was the first ever for a Williams FJ44-3AP equipped Beechjet 400A.

“The 400XT operated flawlessly and exceeded our expectations for the first flight. We are looking forward to beginning our flight tests and remain on schedule for the completion of the William FJ44-3AP engine STC during the first quarter 2011. Throughout the certification process for both the Pro Line 21 and the 3AP engines, we have continued to be impressed by the performance improvements we are seeing,” said James Miller, President of Nextant Aerospace. youtube.com/nextantaerospace

Nextant Aerospace says the 400XT is a significant improvement over the popular Hawker Beechjet 400A/XP. The company claims the aircraft's range has been extended by more than 50% to over 2,000 nautical miles (4 PAX NBAA IFR) while reducing operating costs by 30%. The 400XT is equipped with a Pro Line 21 upgrade that seamlessly manages the Williams FJ44-3AP Full Authority Digital Engine control (FADEC) and enables future NEXTGEN avionics equipage requirements.
